1. Edinburgh Global Online Learning Masters Scholarships 2022 

Inline with the fully funded online master programmes, the University of Edinburgh will offer twelve master’s scholarships for eligible part-time distance learning master’s programmes offered by the University.

Eligibility for this program

  • Scholarships will be available for students commencing any online part-time learning Masters programme offered by the University in session 2022-2023
  • Applicants must be nationals and residents of the following countries:
  • Applicants should already have been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh and should have firmly accepted that offer or be intending to do so.

Each scholarship will cover full tuition fees and will be tenable for the normal duration of the programme of study.

2. The Scottish Government Scholarship in Ophthalmology 

A number of scholarships are available for eye healthcare professionals working in Scotland who have been accepted for admission to the online MSc in Primary Care Ophthalmology in academic year 2022-2023 under the fully funded online master programmes.

Value of the Award

The value of each scholarship is £1,000 annually, which will be deducted from the annual tuition fees for successful applicants’ part-time programme of study (3 years). These new scholarships are designed to support the education and training of practitioners residing and working in Scotland who are contributing to their national and/or local COVID-19 recovery plan for ophthalmology which will feature fewer consultant-led outpatient clinics. The Hospital Eye Services in the Scottish NHS are increasingly becoming dependent on community and hospital optometrists, ophthalmic nurses, and ophthalmic allied health professionals such as orthoptists and dispensing opticians.

Eligibility

  • The scholarships will be awarded to applicants who are accepted for admission to the online learning MSc in Primary Care Ophthalmology at the University of Edinburgh in 2022-2023.
  • Applicants should already have been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh and should have firmly accepted that offer or be intending to do so.

Applicants must be:

  • community or hospital optometrists, ophthalmic nurses, orthoptists, dispensing opticians, or other ophthalmic allied health professionals involved in delivering eye care in/for the Scottish NHS

3. The Anne Rowling Clinic Regenerative Neurology Scholarships 

The Anne Rowling Clinic will offer three fully funded online learning master progrmmes for applicants commencing Stem Cells and Translational Neurology programmes in the academic year 2022-2023.

Value of the Award

  • One International Anne Rowling Clinic Regenerative Neurology Scholarship will cover 60 credits towards your module fees.
  • Two Anne Rowling Clinic Regenerative Neurology Scholarships will cover 30 credits worth of course fees.

Eligibility

The scholarships will be awarded to applicants who are accepted for admission on to the online learning postgraduate Certificate, Diploma, or Masters Stem Cell and Translational Neurology programme at the University of Edinburgh for the 2022-2023 academic session. Applicants should already have been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh and should have firmly accepted that offer or be intending to do so.

In addition, only applicants who are nationals of the following list of eligible countries will be considered for the International Anne Rowling Clinic Regenerative Neurology Scholarship.

4. Clinical Management of Pain Scholarship 

The Department of Anaesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Medicine offers four fully funded online master programmes  to students on the Clinical Management of Pain (Online Distance Learning) programme in the 2022-2023 academic session.

 Value of the Award

  • Each scholarship provides a one-off payment of up to £1,000 towards tuition fees.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be in possession of an unconditional offer by the scholarship deadline to be considered for funding and intend to begin their PGCert/PGDip/MSc in the Clinical Management of Pain (Online Distance Learning) in 2023-2024.
  • Students on programme are also eligible to apply.

5. The David and Molly Pyott Foundation Scholarships in Ophthalmology 

Twelve online learning Masters scholarships are available in the field of Ophthalmology for students from Africa, Central and South Asia, Caribbean Islands, Pacific Islands, Central and Latin America who have been accepted for admission to the two-year, part-time online ChM (Master of Surgery) in Clinical Ophthalmology in academic session 2022-2023.

Value of the Award

  • Each scholarship will cover the tuition fee for the entire programme of study and funding towards a laptop and internet service. The award is tenable for two academic years, subject to academic progress. The scholarship is funded by the generous support of The David and Molly Pyott Foundation.

Eligibility

  • The scholarships will be awarded to students who are accepted for admission on to the online learning Master of Surgery (ChM) in Clinical Ophthalmology at the University of Edinburgh, one of the Edinburgh Surgery Online suite of Masters programmes.
  • Applicants should already have been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh and should have firmly accepted that offer or be intending to do so.  Applicants should be advanced trainees/residents/registrars in ophthalmology.  Applications from early career ophthalmologists may also be considered.

6. Polish School of Medicine Memorial Fund Scholarships

The scholarship enables medical doctors and medical scientists at the outset of their careers to undertake a period of further study or research at the University’s Medical School and return to Poland. The Polish School of Medicine Memorial Fund was set up in 1986 by former members of staff, graduates, alumni and friends of the School to commemorate the endeavours of the School at The University of Edinburgh from 1941 to 1949 and to foster academic links between The University of Edinburgh and Poland.

A variable number of scholarships will be made available each year. These will normally take the form of a subsistence allowance for a period of up to 12 months. Some assistance may be available in relation to the course fees for scholars attending an Edinburgh based degree course.

In the case of distance learning students the award will normally cover the tuition fees, subject to satisfactory progress, but no subsistence allowance is payable.  Travel costs to and from Poland are not covered.

 

Eligibility

Applications will be considered from eligible candidates wishing to apply for a 1 year taught Masters programme/ Masters by research offered at The University of Edinburgh College of Medicine or a Masters by distance learning provided that they have the full support of their Head of Department and Polish Medical University authorities.

  • The programme is open to Polish doctors and postgraduate medical scientists: in their early career (usually within 10 years of their medical graduation – MB ChB equivalent)
  • working in Polish Medical Academies/Universities and Research Institutes
  • with excellent mastery of English; and
  • who are committed to the further development of medical research expertise in Poland.

7. Edinburgh Surgery Online Global Scholarships

The University of Edinburgh will offer a number of scholarships for online learning Masters programmes for the academic year 2023-2024.

Value of the Award

Each scholarship will cover full tuition fees, subject to satisfactory progress, with consideration being given to a contribution towards cost of internet access, printing and projext costs.

Eligibility

The scholarships will be awarded to applicants who are accepted for admission on to the MSc Surgical Sciences (Online Learning) and ChM (Online Learning) General Surgery, Urology, Trauma & Orthopaedics, Vascular & Endovascular.

Applicants must be resident in Africa, South Asia, Caribbean Islands, Pacific Islands or Central and South America.

8. Edinburgh Surgery Online: Patient Safety and Clinical Human Factors

Edinburgh Surgery Online will offer a number of fully funded online learning Master programmes for the academic year 2023-2024.

Value of the award

Each scholarship will cover full tuition fees with a contribution towards costs of internet access. Applicants must be resident in Africa, South Asia, Caribbean Islands, Pacific Islands or Central and South America.

There are also several bursaries, each worth £1500 annually, subject to satisfactory progress, available to all applicants.

Eligibility

The scholarships will be awarded to applicants who are accepted for admission on to the MSc in Patient Safety and Clinical Human Factors. The applicants will be asked to write a short 100 word statement on how the programme benefits their career.

9. Edinburgh Surgery Online Ophthalmology Scholarship

A number of fully funded opportunities are available for students applying to the Online master programme, Primary Care Ophthalmology.

Value of the award

There are a number of Scholarships available to support students undertaking the online MSc programme, Primary Care Ophthalmology. Each Scholarship is worth £1500 annually.

Eligibility

Applicants must have applied to the MSc in Primary Care Ophthalmology programme to begin in the 2022-2023 academic year and have at least a conditional offer to be considered. The opportunity is available to UK, EU, and International students.

10. Edinburgh Dental Institute MSc Scholarship

The Edinburgh Dental Institute is offering a number of scholarships for students applying to study an MSc in Restorative Dentistry. Edinburgh Dental Institute is pleased to offer a 10% group tuition fee scholarship to any dental organisation, dental employer or dental corporate who introduces five or more postgraduate students to our online Masters programme in restorative dentistry in any one academic year.

Value of the award

The award will cover 10% of the total tuition fee after any sponsorship has been deducted.    The scholarship applies only to the tuition fee element and does not apply to any additional costs such as additional programme costs or research costs.   Please note that for students in receipt of a postgraduate tuition fee loan from Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS) or Student Finance Northern Ireland, this fee loan will be paid to the University directly but will be considered as a self-funding element.

Eligibility

Applications will be considered from both UK and Overseas eligible candidates wishing to apply for a 3-year part time taught Masters in Restorative Dentistry by online learning.   PG Development courses (PPD) and CPD (Continuing Professional Development) courses are excluded from the scholarship.

11. The Glenmore Postgraduate Scholarship 3 positions

Three scholarships are available for eligible postgraduate Masters programmes offered by the University in the 2022-2023 academic session under the fully funded online master scholarships scheme.

 Value of the award

The scholarship will cover full tuition fees for the duration of the programme of study.

Eligibility

The scholarships will be awarded to applicants who are accepted for admission in the 2022-2023 academic year on one of the listed eligible Human Medical programmes. The Glenmore Postgraduate Scholarship would particularly welcome applications from students from Africa.
