Overview

Keele University is ranked as top 10 in England on student satisfaction with other prestigious awards. A public research university in Keele, about 4.8 km from Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, UK. Keele was granted university status by Royal Charter in 1962 and was founded in 1949 as the University College of North Staffordshire. Keele occupies 253 hectares rural campus close to the village of Keele and consists of extensive woods, lakes and Keele Hall set in Staffordshire Potteries. It has a science park and a conference centre, making it the largest campus university in the UK. The university’s School of Medicine operates the clinical part of its courses from a separate campus at the Royal Stoke University Hospital. The School of Nursing and Midwifery is based at the nearby Clinical Education Centre.

Academic standing, the university is ranked among the top 500 best in the world, top 200 in Europe, top 50 in the UK and has good acceptance rate.

Scholarships for international students at Keele University

 

1. Keele International Excellence Scholarship

One-off tuition fee discounts of up to £5,000 are available to international postgraduate taught students across a wide range of subject areas. This award can be combined with the Keele Developing Countries Scholarship and the Keele Alumni Discount if you are eligible.

 Eligibility Keele International Excellence Scholarships

Enrolled international students who have achieved the following undergraduate awards in their undergraduate study will automatically be awarded the scholarship as a tuition fee discount:

1st – £5,000

2:1 – £2,500

2:2 – £1,000

How to apply

For the scholarships for international students, applicants holding offers for selected postgraduate programmes will automatically be considered for the Keele International Excellence Scholarship when we assess your application. You do not need to submit a separate application for an award. More details

 

2. The Developing Countries Scholarship

One off tuition fee discounts of £1,000 are available to international students who are nationals of the least developed, low and lower middle income countries (as defined by the World Bank as at October 2021).  This award can be combined with the Keele International Excellence Scholarship and the Keele Alumni Discount if you are eligible. 3. Keele Alumni Discount

A discount of 20% of the taught postgraduate course fee is offered.

Eligibility

Students who have graduated from Keele or a Keele programme delivered overseas. Students who undertook a study abroad placement or exchange programme at Keele will also be eligible for this fee reduction.

Please note that this award can be combined with other Keele scholarships (if eligible) however the 20% discount will be applied after all other award discounts have been applied. Details

 

4. Chevening Scholarships

Chevening Scholarships are the UK government’s global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations. The programme makes awards to outstanding scholars with leadership potential from around the world to study postgraduate courses at UK universities. Details

 

5. Commonwealth Scholarships

Funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), these scholarships enable talented and motivated individuals to gain the knowledge and skills required for sustainable development, and are aimed at those who could not otherwise afford to study in the UK.

6. Great Scholarships international students 2022

This scholarship scheme is part of the GREAT Scholarships 2022 campaign, which has been launched by the British Council together with UK universities to support more students to access world-class UK higher education opportunities. GREAT Scholarships are jointly funded by Keele University with the UK government’s GREAT Britain campaign and the British Council.

Keele University is offering £10,000 towards tuition fees for one-year master’s programmes to students from India, Indonesia and Malaysia, who will enrol at Keele University in the 2022-23 academic year. Three scholarships are available (one per country). Details.

 

7. Marshall Scholarships for international students

The Marshall Scholarship offers American students the opportunity to study at Keele with a full tuition fee scholarship and a monthly stipend.  Details.

 

8. MSC IN AI and Data Science Scholarships for international students

In 2020, Keele University was one of 18 Universities awarded a share of £13 million to boost the number and diversity of graduates in AI and data science technologies over the next three years. This followed a competitive bidding process run by the Office for Students (OfS) on behalf of the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and the Office for Artificial Intelligence (OAI).

The Award

Our programme offers Scholarships of £10,000 that are available for underrepresented students listed in the following eligibility criteria:

Black students (Defined in line with the HESA student ethnicity codes)

21 Black or Black British – Caribbean

22 Black of Black British – African

29 Other Black background

41 Mixed – White and Black Caribbean

42 Mixed – White and Black African

Disabled students (as defined under the Equality Act 2010)

9. Article 26 Sanctuary Scholarships for international students

Article 26 of the Declaration of Human Rights states that “Everyone has the right to Education”. Keele University are committed to supporting students from all backgrounds to access Higher Education and provide scholarships for asylum seekers and forced migrants who are seeking sanctuary in the UK.

Applications for 2022 entry Article 26 Scholarship will open in Spring 2022.

Applications will be online, via a link on this webpage. Please check this webpage in January for further information. To apply for the Article 26 Scholarship, you must hold an offer for a course at Keele University – therefore please ensure that you apply for your course before applying to the Scholarship.

10. MBA Scholarship

For full time MBA students,  Scholarship is available for both UK and International Students.  Enrolled International students who have achieved the following undergraduate awards in their undergraduate study will automatically be awarded the scholarship as a tuition fee discount:

  • £5k scholarship offered to students with 2:1 or above qualification and that meet our other entry requirements
  • £3k scholarship offered to students with 2:2 equivalent and that meet our other entry requirements

Qualifying recipients of the scholarship will receive the award in the form of a tuition fee discount. No cash alternative is available and the award cannot be used in place of any required deposit. The Scholarship is for students who will be based at Keele University and start their studies in September 2022. The award cannot be used for any other year of entry. Details
