The University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia offers a wide range of scholarships and awards to support worldwide undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students commencing full-time study at UNSW. Some scholarships will provide a full or partial tuition fee payment, while others provide a stipend to assist with the costs associated with your studies. Students wishing to undertake postgraduate research study should contact the Graduate Research School.

Types of Scholarships for International Students in Australia at UNSW

 

A. Scholarships & Awards that require separate application

By submitting an application for the UNSW Scholarships for International Students Commencing Term 2, 2022 (PUCA1029) applicants may be considered for the scholarships listed in below:

 

1. International Scientia Coursework Scholarship 

Eligibility

Applicant must be commencing full-time study in a UNSW Undergraduate or Postgraduate coursework degree program (excluding PG online and UNSW Canberra) in Term 2, 2022

Value and Duration

Offer 1: Full tuition fee scholarships paid directly towards tuition fees for the minimum duration of program.

Offer 2: $20,000 per annum paid directly towards tuition fees for the minimum duration of program

2. UNSW Business School International Pathways Award 

Eligibility

  • Must have an undergraduate or Masters articulation pathway qualification from an approved partner institution; or completed the UNSW Foundation Studies Commerce or Commerce Actuarial stream prior to commencing study at UNSW
  • UNSW Business School undergraduate (single/dual) or postgraduate (Master) coursework degree program (excluding any program offered by AGSM)

Value and Duration

  • $15,000 paid directly towards tuition fees for 1 year

 

3. UNSW Business School International Scholarship

Eligibility

  • UNSW Business School undergraduate or postgraduate coursework (single/dual) degree program (excluding any program offered by AGSM)

Value and Duration

  • $5,000 per annum paid directly towards tuition fees for the minimum duration of program

 

4. UNSW Law & Justice International Award (PUCA1028)

Eligibility

  • UNSW Law undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree program (LLB, JD or LLM programs)

Value and Duration

  • $10,000 paid directly towards tuition fees for 1 year

 

Additional Eligibility Criteria for the 

  • Must have received an offer of admission into an eligible program for Term 2 2022 by 31 March 2022.
  • Offers of admission must be one of the following:
  • Undergraduate or Postgraduate Letter of Offer (unconditional)
  • Undergraduate or Postgraduate Conditional English Package Offer (UEEC) – students must be enrolled in the UNSW Institute of Languages and successfully complete the program prior to commencing in Term 2 2022.

 

Selection Criteria for Scholarships in Australia for Worldwide Students

Applicants will be assessed on the basis of:

  • Academic merit
  • Leadership skills (school, workplace or community)
  • Extra-curricular activities (sporting, cultural activities, volunteer/work experience)

Method of Application for type A scholarship

To apply for PUCA1029, please register an account in the Scholarship Application Online portal, or if you have already created an account, log in and submit your application. You can also access the Scholarship Application Online portal using the Register and Login buttons on the right side of this page.

 

B. Scholarships & Awards that do not require an separate application

Eligible students who have received an offer of admission to UNSW will be automatically considered for the scholarships and awards listed in the table below. You do not need to submit any specific scholarship application or additional supporting documentation to be considered. The scholarships and awards listed below will be automatically offered to eligible students on the basis of academic merits highlighted in the application for admission to UNSW.

 

5. Australia’s Global University Award 

Eligibility

  • Be an International student commencing full-time study on campus in a UNSW Undergraduate or Postgraduate coursework program (excluding PG online and UNSW Canberra) in Term 2, 2022.

Value and Duration

  • Offer 1: $5,000 for 1 year.
  • Offer 2: $10,000 for 1 year.
  • Payment will be made towards tuition fees in the student’s second term of the first year of study

 

6. UNSW Global Academic Award 

Eligibility

  • Must be completing a UNSW Global Foundation Studies program (in Sydney or off-shore)
  • Be an International student commencing full-time study on campus in a UNSW Undergraduate (excluding UNSW Canberra) in Term 2, 20

Value and Duration

  • Offer 1: $5,000 for 1 year.
  • Offer 2: $10,000 for 1 year.
  • Payment will be made towards tuition fees in the student’s second term of the first year of study

7. Future of Change Scholarship 

Eligibility

  • Be a citizen of India, and not a permanent resident of Australia
  • Must be residing in India, prior to commencing study at UNSW for undergraduate applicants. Postgraduate applicants may have prior residence in Australia; and
  • Be commencing full-time study on campus in a UNSW Undergraduate or Postgraduate coursework program (excluding PG online and UNSW Canberra) in Term 2, 2022.

Value and Duration

  • $10,000 p.a. paid as a stipend for minimum duration of program

 

8. Future of Change Scholarship Schools Bursary 

Eligibility

  • Be a citizen of India, and not a permanent resident of Australia
  • Must be residing in India, prior to commencing study at UNSW for undergraduate applicants. Postgraduate applicants may have prior residence in Australia; and
  • Be commencing full-time study on campus in a UNSW Undergraduate or Postgraduate coursework program (excluding PG online and UNSW Canberra) in Term 2, 2022.

Value and Duration

  • $10,000 p.a. paid as a stipend for minimum duration of program
