About the Scholarships in Taiwan for International Students

National Taiwan University (NTU) has many scholarships available for prospective students that can be applied for along with submitting your application. The government of Taiwan, other organizations, and respective colleges also provide scholarships for international students. Being offered a scholarship does not guarantee admission to NTU, and vice versa.

The scholarships therein are exclusively for degree students (undergraduate and graduate) who are international students.

 

International Student Financial Assistance Grant

This is a scholarship program for international students seeking to enroll in any undergraduate program at NTU.

Benefits of the Scholarship at National Taiwan University

  • Full tuition waiver/reimbursement
  • Monthly stipend of NTD 6,000 (USD 200)

For the first semester, tuition fees of up to TWD 65,000 (USD 2,167) will be waived. For the second semester onwards, the recipient will receive a tuition fee reimbursement for up to TWD 65,000 (USD 2,167) per semester. This is exclusive of administrative fees, thesis advisor’s fees, insurance, accommodation, internet service, credit fees, and other such fees, which the recipients shall bear on their own. For the reimbursement, the recipient must first pay the fees themself and will receive reimbursement upon providing the receipt to the OIA.

Other Details

Maximum Duration: 4 years for undergraduate degree students

Requirements for renewal of scholarship:
3.0 GPA or above in their first year, 3.2 GPA or above in their second year, and 3.33 GPA or above in their third year.

 

Outstanding International Graduate Student Scholarship

This is a scholarship program for international students seeking to enroll in any postgraduate program at NTU.

All students applying to the National Taiwan University international graduate degree programs can apply (We recommend that you contact your potential supervisor regarding scholarship possibilities)

Benefits of the International Graduate Scholarship in Taiwan

  • Tuition waiver/reimbursement of up to NTD 65,000 (USD 2,167) each semester

College committees will review the recipient’s performance each academic year and decide whether they pass the requirements.
