Eligibility Criteria
Applicants for the Microsoft Research Fellowship 2023 must meet the below general eligibility criteria:
- Open to applicants worldwide: If you’re from anywhere on the globe, you’re welcome to apply!
- Finish your Ph.D. by 2024: the organizer is looking for students who can proudly hold their degree by the end of 2024.
- Study location matters: You should be currently enrolled at a university in your own region. If you’re from the Asia Pacific, that means mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Singapore, or Taiwan. Other regions have similar requirements.

Benefits of the Microsoft Research Fellowship
The Microsoft Research Fellowship 2023 will offer the following benefits to the successful applicants:
- Tuition and fees covered for the academic years 2023–24 and 2024–25.
- Stipend provided for living expenses during the academic years 2022-23 and 2023-24. It won’t cover everything, but can be used for childcare, conferences, research gear, rent, meals, etc.
