About the Undergraduate Scholarship in Australia

The Andrew N. Liveris Academy for Innovation and Leadership was established at The University of Queensland in 2018 with the support of a generous donation of $13.5M from UQ alumnus Andrew N. Liveris AO and his wife, Paula Liveris. The Liveris Academy is designed to cultivate the next generation of leaders with the capacity to address grand challenges at a time of dramatic socio-economic, technological and environmental change.

Scholarships are offered as a “Liveris Academy Merit Scholarship” or a specific “Named Scholarship” under the auspices of the Liveris Academy Scholarship Scheme. The purpose of the Scholarship is to encourage and support outstanding students in an Approved Program at The University of Queensland, through financial support and Membership with the Liveris Academy.

Value of the Award Undergraduate Scholarship in Australia

The Liveris Academy undergraduate scholarship at the Queensland University in Australia will award up to $10,000 for about five successful applicants for a period of up to 6 years.  An additional $10,000 may also be added for travel support for approved Gap Semester, exchange or internship opportunities.

Eligibility for the Undergraduate Scholarship in Australia

You’re eligible to apply for the Liveris Academy undergraduate scholarship in Australia if you:

  • achieved a minimum Australian Tertiary Admission Rank of 99.00 (or equivalent) for your year 12 studies
  • will complete, or have completed, year 12 in 2022 or 2021
  • have completed no more than one semester towards the following programs in the year of award:

Bachelor of Computer Science

Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)

an engineering integrated program

Bachelor of Science

Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours)

Bachelor of Information Technology

Bachelor of Mathematics

  • a dual program including one of these programs; or
  • have not undertaken any tertiary study at Bachelor level or high prior to enrolling in the approved program (special studies not included)
  • do not hold another scholarship that the Director considers to be similar.

How to Apply for Undergraduate Scholarship in Australia

An applicant for the Liveris undergraduate scholarship in Australia can apply through the application portal with the following:

  • a cover letter
  • your resume
  • a copy of your Year 12 report (or equivalent)
  • a copy of your ATAR Advice Notice (or equivalent certificate that states your final grade).

You’ll also be asked to prepare a short video that’s no longer than 1 minute, and to respond to a few short answer questions to demonstrate how you meet the selection criteria for this scholarship.

Application Timelines

Application for the Liveris Academy scholarship will open on 22nd September 2022 and close on 7th November 2022.
