About the Scholarship at Boston College USA
Each year, Boston College awards eighteen academically merit-based scholarships to incoming freshmen through the Gabelli Presidential Scholarship Program. Both Early Decision and Regular Decision candidates are eligible for Presidential Scholarship consideration as long as they meet the November 1 priority scholarship deadline.
The Gabelli Presidential Scholars Program is an undergraduate academic, merit program that annually awards full-tuition scholarships and fully-funded, GPSP-sponsored summer programs to 18 incoming freshman students. No additional application materials are required for this scholarship, but please note that only candidates for fall admission will be considered.
Finalists for the Gabelli Presidential Scholars Program will be notified of their status in mid-January. These students will be invited to Boston College at our expense for interviews and evaluation in mid-March. They will be notified of final decisions shortly thereafter.
Value of the Scholarship at Boston College USA
The Presidential Scholarship is a four-year, full-tuition scholarship. If a student demonstrates need beyond tuition, as determined by Boston College’s institutional analysis, this need would be met with additional scholarship funds.
Eligibility for the Scholarship at Boston College USA
There is no minimum GPA or SAT score requirement. However, the college is looking for students with outstanding academic records, who hold leadership roles in their school and who are committed to and have a demonstrated interest in community service. Typically, the students selected are in the top 1-2 percent of the national pool of freshman applicants.
How to Apply
No separate application is required for the scholarship, applications for admission into Boston College are automatically considered for the scholarship.
