Awardees of the fully funded African student scholarship at Wageningen University will receive the following benefits towards their master’s program:

- Monthly living allowance for the full 24-month program duration
- Full tuition coverage for the 24-month program
- Coverage for visa and health insurance costs
- Additional budget for attending one seminar in Europe, covering travel, accommodation, and registration fees
Eligibility Criteria for the African Students Scholarship
To stand a chance of winning this scholarship award, you must meet the following minimum eligibility criteria:
- You are a citizen of an African nation.
- You have applied for a master’s program at Wageningen University & Research by the specified deadline
- You have received unconditional admission to this MSc program.
- You are a high-achieving student with a First Class Honors degree and a bachelor’s GPA of 80% or above.
- Priority is given to applicants who do not already hold a master’s degree.
Selection Procedure
The selection process for this scholarship is by invitation only, and direct applications are not accepted. The following are the routes to the award
Step 1: Apply for an MSc programme before 1 February 2025
Step 2: Invitation to apply for the scholarship
In March 2025, all students who have been unconditionally admitted to an MSc programme at Wageningen University will be assessed with regard to the Africa Scholarship Programme.
A selected group of candidates will be invited by email on 13 March 2025 to participate in the ASP selection procedure. Only candidates who are invited to take part in the selection procedure will receive an email.
Step 3: Result of the selection process
On 8 May 2025, the result of the selection process will be communicated to all candidates who were interviewed.
The possible results are:
- Positive and an ASP scholarship will be granted;
- Positive but the candidate will be placed on a waiting list;
- Negative, meaning that no ASP scholarship will be granted.
Application Timelines
1 February 2025: Deadline to apply for an MSc programme
13 March 2025: Invitation of selected candidates to take part in the further selection process (approx. 40 candidates will be selected)
25 March 2025: Deadline of the assignment
8 April 2025: Decision about invitation online interviews communicated (approx. 20 candidates will be interviewed)
22 April – 1 May 2025: MS Teams interviews
8 May 2025: Results of the selection process communicated
